Your Work Capability Assessment Report

As we carry out Work Capability Assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, we’ve been running a series of blogs that are designed to help you find out more about the assessment process. In this blog post, we’ll be telling you more about the report that Atos Healthcare professionals prepare based on your Work Capability Assessment. Please read on for more.

About your Work Capability Assessment Report

If you have an illness or disability and you apply for Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire. While everyone is asked to fill in a questionnaire as part of this process, most people will also take part in a face to face assessment conducted by a fully qualified healthcare professional from Atos Healthcare.

During the face to face assessment, the healthcare professional will talk to you to find out more about how your illness or disability affects you in your everyday life.

After the face to face assessment, the healthcare professional produces a report that will be used by decision makers at the Department for Work and Pensions as part of the information they have to help them process your Employment and Support Allowance claim.

Seeing your Report

You can see the report completed by the healthcare professional who conducted your Work Capability Assessment, after it has been sent to the DWP.

If you would like to see it please contact the Jobcentre Plus office that is dealing with your claim. Their telephone number will be on the letters you have received from them about your claim.
